LPGA rookie Amanda Doherty blazed through her first ISPS Handa World Invitational in Antrim, Northern Ireland, and was leading the tournament after each of the first three rounds, giving her a 54-hole lead for the first time in her LPGA career.

The 24-year-old was a surprising early leader, playing in just her 13th LPGA event. She followed up her first round 67 at Galgore Castle with another 67 at Massereene Golf Club on Friday to enter the weekend at 11 under, two strokes clear of second place.

“I had been feeling like my game was trending in the right direction, making a few tweaks here and there. From the outside looking in you might not see that score-wise, but I’ve been feeling like it’s going in the right direction. So, it’s nice to really kind of confirm that,” said Doherty.

Despite falling just short on the last day thanks in large part to a career-low and course record round from the eventual winner, the career milestones have been incredible to witness. On behalf of the entire Jabian team, we are excited to watch Amanda’s skills progress as she grows in her LPGA career.
