Atlanta, Georgia – July 31, 2013 – The recently-published Business Analysis for Dummies features a chapter titled “Ten Experts Chime In.” Among the ten experts invited to contribute was Jonathan Babcock, Senior Manager at Jabian Consulting. Babcock submitted an entry on the affinity diagram, a business technique used to generate ideas and dialogue around a project topic.

When asked how he chose to write about the affinity diagram, Babcock responded, “Working with Jabian clients, I regularly have opportunities to facilitate discovery and analysis sessions with client stakeholders around critical business problems and potential solutions. I often rely on the affinity diagram to provide structure to dialog around the problem area, to ensure all participants have an opportunity to contribute, and to further discuss potential solutions and impacts.”

B2T Training and publishing company John Wiley & Sons agreed in late 2012 to produce Business Analysis for Dummies. Authors Kupe Kupersmith, Paul Mulvey, and Kate McGoey identified Jonathan Babcock as a Business Analysis expert and potential contributor based on his professional background as well as his thought leadership blog, Practical Analyst (https://practicalanalyst.com/).

Babcock fondly recalls the initial email invitation to contribute: “The subject line was ‘Want to be in a book?‘ Of course, I was glad to participate.”
