Jabian Stands Up Transformation Management Office

The Client:

With over 3,500 employees and $2B in annual revenue, the client is a leader in the experiential marketing industry, primarily as a general contractor of trade shows and large-scale events. Operating in an industry significantly impacted by COVID-19 and rapidly changing customer expectations required the client to redefine their strategy and embark on a transformational journey.

The Work:

The $50M – $100M transformation involved implementing a new operating model, scaling its business in an agile way, and growing its business by expanding customers and offerings. With significant business and technology investments, constrained talent resources, a loose definition of the long-term view of transformation, and a wide variation in organizational readiness, the client needed help.

Jabian stood up and managed a centralized transformation office (TMO) that facilitated coordination, alignment, and risk mitigation among disparate programs and stakeholders; defined the path for transformation; and created a plan and materials to prepare employees for transformational change.

The Strategy:

As a long-term partner of the client, a Jabian team of experienced business transformation experts led the effort working with the organization’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technology, and business leaders to define the long-term transformation journey and prepare the organization for the change.

Working side-by-side, the team:

  • Led the transformation management office to keep the client focused on driving to their vision
  • Defined the near-term tactical and long-term strategic transformation roadmap, including considerations for dependencies, business disruption, in-progress projects, and programs needed to bridge the gap between current capabilities and those needed to transform
  • Assessed transformation readiness of a diverse set of stakeholders to tailor the change management approach to impacted groups
  • Built a cohesive communications plan and artifacts to maintain the stakeholders’ alignment and enable the client to realize the value of transformation investments

The Outcome:

As a result of Jabian’s efforts, the client was able to quickly address cross-program dependencies and roadblocks, understand the path and gauge progress towards transformation, and address change management needs of a diverse set of stakeholders.
