Michael Lan is currently a Director at Jabian and the recent winner of the title “Rising Star of the Profession: 35 Under 35” byConsulting Magazine. We sat down with Michael to get his thoughts on his award and his life at Jabian.
What led you to a career in consulting?
The allure of travel, hotels, points, and upgrades.
If you had to describe Jabian’s culture in one word, what would it be?
Family.
How long have you been with Jabian?
6 years.
What was it about Jabian that convinced you to want to develop your career here?
#1: No more travel, hotels, points, and upgrades. #2: Jabian provides me with the opportunity to develop my career in the way I want it to go, not where the firm views as the “hot” trend.
How does it feel to be a “Rising Star of the Profession”?
Very awkward, and honored at the same time. Although my name is the only Jabian name associated with the award, I view it as a public testament to our Firm and the culture that we all embody.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
The ability to teleport.
